Melanie is supposed to be a woman of 20 years of age as described in the book. How is Halle Berry gonna cut it? All the possible casts ar way too old.

I think the British actress Hannah Taylor Gordon would make the most wonderful Melanie Stryder! Not only is she exactly how I pictured her when I read the book, she’s such a beautiful actress! I really want an actress of weight and substance to play Mel and do her justice...I would be so disappointed if the production company just cast a super well known celebrity who can’t act like Megan Fox to pull in the viewers! That's why I have so much respect for the casting of Kristen Stewart in Twilight...it’s her incredible talent that have now made her and Twilight a star.

The only thing I recomend is that ian somerhalder is in this movie as ian. He has the perfect look and blue eyes to play the character. If not him, then chris pine. he's aloms just as good.

no i dont like any of those castings! they have to be younger cast. none of those are perfect

not that it's ever my choice or that i know Meyer's reasons for choosing this but i do agree with those who said that this cast is too old. I know that actors often play younger than they are but these choices just seem to always look too old for these parts. With the exception of Jeb...i really thing that Donald Southerland would be great for that role, it's a similar character to what he played in "A Time To Kill" not the drunkeness but his attitude. Also i think that Jared Paladeki would be a great Jared, the whole being at war with himself and his feelings and being able to show complete hatred for someone with one look is something he's good at. I'd like to see Jenson ackles in the part of Ian but there are many other good ideas out there for him as well. as for melanie, this is a hard one. you're really going to need a skilled actress to beable to act like there's another person in her head without making it cheesey. also she must look very athletic and be tall to fit the book. for jamie i thought that, if he can do an american accent, Skander Keynes would be good, he looks the part and can act betrayed and hurt etc. very well. These are just my thoughts though. I absolutely love this book and think the movie will be great no matter what.

Wanda/Pet - Autumn Reeser, she is adorably sweet to look at and is only a tiny person too.

The Seeker - Kristen Bell - Based on her role in Heroes, I can't imagine anyone better who appears both vulnerable and yet tough. Equally she isn't classically sexy when she is acting seriously, like a lot of the other actors people on here have suggested. The seeker is supposed to be terrifying - she is not there to make all the boys happy!

Kyle - Kellan Lutz if there's not a more suitable ruby player build man out there.

Ian - Henry Cavill would not work when he clearly has a very broken nose, have you not read the book people!? I do like the idea of Ian Somerhalder.

Jared - Josh Hartnett doesn't look a day over 25 and would play the part brilliantly.

Sunny/Jodi - Rachel Bilson

Jamie - If they could make Josh Hutcherson look younger he'd be perfect!

I keep seeing everyone saying that Evangeline lilly would be good for melenie, but if you really thought about it she has got to be in her thirties by now and that is way to old!

I really dont care about the rest of the cast, but Logan Lerman should be Jamie, hands down! He's my favorite actor and he fits the part perfectly! Anyone who agrees is soooo right!!!
